[Web Shop] Amazon.co.jp - Amazon Japan (Page 14 of 29) MyFigureCollection.net
Just a heads up for anyone who used Amazon JP and had their items delivered using SF Express:The first time SF Express delivered my package to me, everything was alright and on time.
The second time SF Express delivered another package to me, the package was lost. SF Express delivers the package to California and then will hand the package over to UPS Mail Innovations. After UPS receives the package, they will deliver it a part of the way and then drop the package off to USPS for them to finish the delivery.
Based on the tracking number on both UPS and USPS' website, the package was lost when UPS handed the package over to USPS. I submitted a lost mail inquiry on the USPS website, which typically gets addressed and resolved within a week, but have heard nothing back and it's been 10 days of silence. Therefore, I'm pretty certain that the package was lost.
I then contacted Amazon JP after the order status for my package was "Your package may be lost. We're very sorry your delivery is so late. Although it may still arrive, you can request a refund or replacement now."
I had the Amazon JP representative tell me that they had to reach out to the carrier - SF Express - and to please wait two weeks for a response. Keep in mind that this is an expensive package as I only order in bulk from Amazon JP to make ordering from them worth it, so I was super stressed.
Around five days later, Amazon JP got back to me and what they wanted me to do was atrocious. Amazon JP had contacted SF Express who claimed they gave the package to UPS. Amazon JP wanted me to contact UPS directly as "they only accept calls from the recipient only" and tell UPS to return the items to them. Anyone who has ever called UPS before knows that it is impossible to talk to a living, breathing human being. My only option was to file a claim on the UPS website, but I received an error when filing a claim on the UPS website because 1. I'm the recipient of the package and only the shipper can file a claim in the U.S. and 2. I'm not even sure if UPS Mail Innovation is actually insured.
In addition, Amazon JP wanted me to foot the shipping costs to get UPS to return the package back to them, which was impossible in the first place as the package was obviously lost. Amazon JP also stated that after receiving the package, they will then give me my refund.
I was hopping mad when I received their response and reached out to their live chat asap. I was super lucky to talk to another Amazon JP representative and after explaining my situation, he placed a replacement order for me. Sadly, some of my magazines are out of stock now, but at least I'm getting a replacement order and a giftcard refund for the items that can't be replaced.
